Subscription Update Obituary

Henry J. Baril, 68, of Derry, NH, formerly of Salem, NH and Auburn, MA, a Korean War veteran, died Monday, September 17, at Parkland Medical Center.

He leaves his wife, Joan (Rousseau) Baril; a daughter, Brenda Baril of Salem; a step-daughter, Cheryl McLaughlin of Auburn; two stepsons, Donald Baril of Shrewsbury and Brian Baril of Natick; two brothers, Donald Baril of Cherry Valley, MA and Richard Baril of California; a sister Gloria Kennan of East Brookfield, MA; two grandchildren; nephews and nieces.

He was born in East Brookfield and lived in Salem and Auburn before moving to Derry three years ago.  He attended East Brookfield schools and graduated from David Prouty High School in Spencer, MA.  He was an Air Force veteran of the Korean War.

Mr. Baril was a retired master sergeant in the Air Force, where he served 24 years.  At one time he was stationed in Stuttgart, Germany, under the U.S. European Command; he also served in Greece.  He was a member of Mary Queen of Peace Church in Salem, NH.  He enjoyed reading, football, baseball and politics.
