Subscription Update Obituary

     Henrietta N. “Cookie” (Kamyck) Stankus, 82 of Worcester, passed away unexpectedly in her sleep Thursday, January 3rd, 2013 rejoining her husband and two sons.
     Cookie was born in Worcester, one of twelve children of Joseph and Anna (Janoszek) Kamcyk. She grew up and educated in Worcester, met and married the love of her life, Louis Stankus, Jr. Together they settled in Worcester to raise their four boys before Louis passed away at a young age in 1972, leaving Cookie to care and raise her sons.
     Cookie took a position as a dietary aide for the former Heywood Valley Nursing Home and worked several years before retiring.
     Henrietta is survived by her devoted sons, Richard L. Stankus and his wife Joyce of Myrtle Beach SC, Stephen F. Stankus and his wife Lucille of Worcester; Her sister and best friend, Joanne Cutroni of Shrewsbury; her daughter in law, Diane of Webster; seven grandchildren: five great grandchildren; Many nieces, nephews and extended family. A son, Paul J Stankus passed away in 1975, another son Louis C. Stankus passed away in 1999.
     Friends and relatives are invited to visit with the family Monday, January 7th from 4 pm to 7 pm in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St. Her funeral will be celebrated Tuesday from the Funeral home with a Mass at 10:30 am in Our Lady of Czestochowa Church, 33 Ward St. Burial next to her husband and son will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park in Paxton.
