Subscription Update Obituary

    Helen T. (Kruczek) Radziewicz, 100, of Auburn, formerly of Worcester, died Sunday, December 27, 2009 in her home. Her husband, Chester Radziewicz died in 1973.

    She leaves her daughter, Viola V. Happy of Auburn, with whom she made her home, two grandchildren, Matthew Happy and his wife Heidi of Worcester and Christine Herbert and her husband, William of Auburn and two great-grandchildren, Jessica Herbert and Luke Happy. She was born in Manchester, New Hampshire, a daughter of Paul and Jadwiga (Stoklosa) Kruczek and later lived in Poland several years and Worcester for many years. She has resided in Auburn for nine years.

    Mrs. Radziewicz worked making waterproof packings for tools and supplies for the war effort during World War II. Helen was a member of Our Lady of Czestochowa Church, Worcester and enjoyed tatting and working in her vegetable garden.

    The funeral will be held on Saturday, January 2, 2010 from HENRY-DIRSA FUNERAL HOME, 33 Ward St., Worcester with a Mass at 10:30 AM in Our Lady of Czestochowa Church, 34 Ward St., Worcester. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. A calling hour will be held on Saturday, January 2 from 9:00 to 10:00 AM in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to UMASS Memorial Hospice, 650 Lincoln St., Worcester, Ma., 01605.
