   Helen L. (Goeckeler) Mencer, 81, of 41 Winslow Avenue died Tuesday, Feb. 19 in the Meadows of Leicester after an illness.

   Her husband, Donald R. Mencer, Sr. died in 1998. She leaves three sons, William J. Londergan, III and his wife, Theresa of Melbourne, FL, Dennis M. Londergan and his wife, Katherine of Lake Hiawatha, N.J., Stephen E. Londergan of East Brookfield, a step-son, Donald R. Mencer, Jr. and his wife, Cathy of Auburn, two step-daughters, Donna M. Padovano and her husband, Ronald of Worcester, Diana L. Roth and her husband, Sonny of Three Rivers, two brothers, David Banfill and his wife, Marsha of Worcester, Kenneth Banfill and his wife, Ginger of Hardwick, 18 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She is pre-deceased by her first husband, William J. Londergan, who died in 1976 and a daughter, Maureen L. Londergan, who died in 2006.

   Mrs. Mencer was born in Worcester, daughter of William J. and Ethel L. (Going) Goeckeler. She worked in the Leicester High School Cafeteria for 35 years, retiring as a manager. She was a member of Leicester Senior Citizen Club and the Red Hat Society. She enjoyed spending time with her family.

   The funeral will be held Friday, Feb. 22 from MORIN-MORRISON FUNERAL HOME, 1131 Main Street, Leicester with a Mass at 10:00 AM in St. Aloysius-St. Jude Church, 489 Pleasant Street, Leicester. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Calling hours are Thursday from 4:00-7:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Komen Foundation, P.O. Box 650309, Dallas, TX 75265-0309.
