Subscription Update Obituary

Helen B. (Blanchard) Cane, 93, died on Tuesday, August 9, 2011, at Beaumont Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing Center, Westborough.

Her loving husband, Edwin L. Cane, died in 1970. Helen is survived by her son, Richard L. Cane and his wife, Jill of Merrimack, New Hampshire; a daughter, Janice E. Cane and her husband, Walter Hess of Rockport. She was the very loving grandmother of seven grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. Helen was predeceased by her four siblings, Joseph, Roland, and Francis Blanchard, and Rita Blanchard Gelinas.

Born in Worcester and raised in Shrewsbury, Helen was the daughter of Valmore J.B. Blanchard and Cordelia Z. (Malhoit) Blanchard. She lived many years in Shrewsbury and Holden before moving to Worcester in 1976, where she remained until recently moving to Westborough. Helen had many friends and was always generous and ready to help others. She loved playing cards, doing puzzles and reading. She was a member of St. George’s Church, Worcester.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, August 13 in St. George’s Church, 38 Brattle St., Worcester. Burial will follow at Worcester County Memorial Park, 217 Richards Ave., Paxton. Funeral Arrangements are under the care of Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main St., Holden.
