Harvey H. Poulin, 92, of Shrewsbury Green, Shrewsbury passed away on July 11, 2012 after a recent illness. He was predeceased by his wife of 54 years Florence (Lavallee) Poulin who died in 1997. He was also predeceased by his brothers Leon Poulin Jr., Robert Poulin, and a sister Gladys (Poulin) Cloutier.
Mr. Poulin was born in Worcester, MA on February 11, 1920, a son of the late Leon P. Poulin and the late Angelina (Perron) Poulin. He graduated from Auburn High School in 1938, and served in the Army Air Corps during World War II.
Harvey worked as a machinist for Wyman Gordon for 41 years in the Worcester Plant and was a member of St. Anne’s Parish in Shrewsbury, MA. He and Mrs. Poulin were members of the Shrewsbury Senior Center where he enjoyed playing whist, pitch and bingo, he also swam and walked at the YMCA.
He leaves two sons Edmond J. Poulin and his wife Donna M. (Gabriel) Poulin of Worcester, Stephen E. Poulin of Shelton, CT, and two daughters Shirley B. (Poulin) Powers, with whom he lived and Mary A. (Poulin) Newth of Worcester. He also leaves five grandchildren Anna M. Powers, Patrick Powers Jr., James E. Powers, Cherise T. Poulin and Sean E. Poulin; six great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
A private family gathering will be held at Britton-Shrewsbury Funeral Home, 648 Main St., Shrewsbury. A funeral Mass for Harvey will be celebrated at Saint Anne’s Church, Shrewsbury. A private burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton.
