Subscription Update Obituary

Harry P. “Bud” Ward Jr., 94, of Hendersonville, NC and a former longtime resident of Worcester, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 20, 2025 in the Lifecare Center of Hendersonville after an extended illness.

Bud was married for 53 years to the late Barbara L. (Weagle) Ward who died on July 17, 2002. He is survived by his son, Thomas P. Ward of Hendersonville, NC; three grandchildren, Arthur Ward, Tina Ward and Thomas Ward Jr.; a great granddaughter, Marissa; 2 great great grandchildren; Paisley and Ella Marie and a sister, Marjorie Tilley.

Mr. Ward was born in Worcester, son of the late Harry P. Ward Sr. and Florence May (Baldwin) Ward. Bud worked as a quality controller for the Telechron Division of General Electric, retiring in 1992 after 42 years of service to the company.

Bud was an avid bowler and enjoyed playing bingo. He volunteered 3 nights a week at Seven hills in Worcester, helping at bingo.

The funeral will be held on Tuesday July 1 at 10:30 AM in Alfred Roy & Sons Funeral Home 12 Hammond St. Worcester. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Calling will be held from 9:30 to 10:30 AM prior to the service in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association 100 North Pkwy, Worcester, MA 01605.
