Subscription Update Obituary

Harry J. Warms, 83, of Camp Street, died on Tuesday, October 25, 2011 in the Rose Monahan Hospice Home in Worcester, after an illness.

His loving wife of 43 years, Shirley M. (Reed) Warms, died in 1999. He is survived by his four children, Daniel Warms and his wife Robin of Shrewsbury, Kurt Warms and his wife Deborah of Dudley, Linda Howard and her husband Jack of Paxton and Ellen Warms and her husband Robert Shokes of Sonoma, CA; and five grandchildren. Harry was born on January 27, 1928 in Brooklyn, NY, the son of Heinrich and Mary (Alber) Warms from Germany.

Harry was a sergeant with the U.S. Air Force weather division during World War II and was a graduate of Clark University in Worcester. He was Vice President of George H. Clark Co. in industrial chemical sales. An avid pilot, he was a member and former officer of the Worcester Flying Club and he built and flew radio controlled air planes. He was also a motorcycle enthusiast and with his wife, Shirley, they enjoyed mountain climbing and hiking and for several decades were members of the AMC Mountain Club.

A private graveside service will be held at Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the First Congregational Church of Paxton, 1 Church Street, Paxton, MA 01612. Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street, Holden, is assisting the family with arrangements.
