Subscription Update Obituary

Grayce C. (Loughnane) Asselin, of Paxton died peacefully in her sleep on December 30th, 2011 at the age of 88. Her husband of 62 years, Edward O. died in 2009. She leaves a daughter Nancy Genese and her husband Gene of Paxton and a son, Robert J and his wife Signe’ of Millbury and many nieces and nephews.

Grayce was born in Worcester and was predeceased by her parents, Joseph and Mary (Brosnihan) Loughnane, three brothers Jack, Bernard, Robert Loughnane, two sisters, Rita Occhialini and Dorothy Lawrence predeceased her.

She attended Commerce High School and worked at Memorial Hospital as a medical secretary before marrying in 1947. She lived most of her life in Paxton and was a member of St. Columba Parish. Grayce was an avid reader and enjoyed aqua aerobics, quilting, the daily crossword puzzle and feeding the birds.

Grayce spent her last months enjoying the tranquil countryside of Vermont in the care of her son. Everyone that knew her will miss her dearly.

In compliance with Grayce’s wishes her funeral will be private with no calling hours. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the charity or animal shelter of your choice.

Arrangements are in the care of CALLAHAN & FAY BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 61 Myrtle St., Worcester.
