Goldie G. DuPont, 85 years of Canterbury Circle, Kennebunk, Maine, formerly of Worcester, died unexpectedly in her home on Friday, October 12, 2007.

Goldie was born in Auburn on April 29, 1922, daughter of Harry and Hazel (Rice) Ramsey. She graduated from Commerce High School in Worcester. On June 21, 1947, Goldie married her sweetheart Richard R. DuPont and they celebrated 60 wonderful years together this past June. For Goldie, those years were spent taking care of their home and raising their three boys. Goldie loved shopping, crafts, gardening, and spending time with her family.

As a young girl, Goldie was a Girl Scout, and it was during those years that she formed friendships that lasted all her life. Goldie was also very active at St. John's Episcopal Church in Worcester and enjoyed being a part of the St. John's Women's Group as well as volunteering for other activities. Predeceasing Goldie was her brother Boyd Ramsey.

Goldie is survived by her loving husband, Richard R. DuPont, Sr.; sons, Richard R. DuPont, Jr. of Kennebunk, Wayne R. DuPont of Boylston and Randall S. DuPont of Worcester; her brother Harold Ramsey of East Brookfield; six grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

A memorial service for Goldie will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, October 16, in the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street, Holden. Interment will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 163 Lancaster Street, Suite 160B, Portland, ME 04101-2406.
