Subscription Update Obituary

     Gloria A. (Whitney) Curtis, 66, of Pine Tree Rd., died peacefully on Wednesday, March 20, 2013, at St. Vincent Hospital after an illness. Born and raised in Worcester, Gloria was the daughter of Clifton E. and Helen M. (Lehtinen) Whitney and lived 39 years in Holden.
     Gloria graduated from Commerce High School in Worcester and worked several years at the former Sheraton-Lincoln Hotel, over 10 years at the Worcester Police Department, and five years at AdCare Hospital all in Worcester.
     She attended Liberty Church in Worcester and was a long-time volunteer and facilitator at the Compassion Pregnancy Center in Worcester. Gloria enjoyed gardening, bird watching and trips to the beach with her family. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother and cherished the time spent with her grandchildren.
     She leaves her husband, John P. Curtis; three sons, Kenneth J. Kaminski and his wife Anne of Sutton, David M. Kaminski and his wife Glenda of Holden, and Michael F. Kaminski of Westborough; a brother, Clifton Whitney of Auburn, Maine; four grandchildren, Peter, Julie, Sarah and Frank Kaminski; and two life-long friends, Theresa Tokla of Falmouth and Jane Knight of Rhode Island. Besides her parents, Gloria is predeceased by her sister, Donna Hamilton.
     Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours from 4 to 7 p.m. on Monday, March 25, at the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main St., Holden. A funeral service honoring Gloria’s life will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, March 26, at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Clear Way Clinic (formerly Compassion Pregnancy Center), 358 Shrewsbury St., Worcester, MA 01604.
