Gladys L. (Banfill) Silva, 88 of Leicester, formerly of Worcester and Webster, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 20, 2018 at The Meadows of Leicester.

Gladys was born one of twelve children, to the late Fredrick L. and Martha L. (Russell) Banfill. She graduated from Worcester Schools and later worked as a housekeeper for various nursing homes for many years.

Gladys is survived by her son, Kenneth Silva of Webster; her daughter, Betty Fox of Spencer; eight grandchildren, Rose Drew and her husband Barry of Florida, Michael Fox and Amy Eldridge both of Worcester, Brian Silva of Charlton, Tracy Silva and her fiancé Christopher Reigner of Thompson, CT., John Tretheway and his wife Stefanie, Anthony Polinski and Katrina Polinski all of Spencer; seven great grandchildren, Haylie, Jordyn, Madilyn, Colby, Lyanna, Kyle and Ayden; many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to a period of calling hours on Thursday, December 27, 2018 from 5-7 pm with a funeral service immediately at 7 pm in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St., Worcester.
