Subscription Update Obituary

    Gladys A. (Peterson) Johnson, 87, of Worcester, died Tuesday, July 7, 2009 in Saint Francis Home, 101 Plantation St. Her husband, William C.G. Johnson, died in 1980.

    She leaves a son, Carl R. "Bobby" Johnson and his wife Margaret P. of Worcester; a daughter, Anna L. Graham of Worthington; five grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; two great great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by an infant twin sister; a son, Richard A. Johnson; a brother, Harry Peterson; and a son-in-law, Richard A. Graham. She was born in Holden, a daughter of Arthur and Ada (Muir) Peterson.

    Mrs. Johnson worked as a cook for the Sisters of Mercy at their mother house for 18 years. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church of Worcester. She was also a den mother for Pack 93 of the Mohegan Council Cub Scouts for many years.

    The funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, July 10, 2009 in DIRSA-MORIN FUNERAL HOME, 298 Grafton St. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Calling hours in the funeral home are on Friday, July 10 from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Francis Home, 101 Plantation St., Worcester, MA 01604.
