Gerturde L.(Flinn) Strew was 82 when she passed away on March 2, 2002 in the Odd Fellows Home in Worcester.

  She leaves two sons, George F. Mayo of Oxford and Clayton A. Strew of Hyannis;   five daughters, Lois L. Carey of Worcester, June L. Ferguson of the Jefferson section of Holden, Marline M. Nahkala of West Yarmouth, Joan M. Emmett of Naples, Fla., and Alberta M. Beggs of the Osterville section of Barnstable; two sisters, Opal M. Day of Palmer and Gloria Goss of Dunstable; 26 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. A daughter, Lydia M. Bachand, died in 1994, another daughter, Mary Lou “Betty” Flinn, died in 1999 and a granddaughter Polly Bachand in 1984.


  Gertrude was born in Island Pond, VT, daughter of Peter and Viola (Smith) Flinn, and lived most of her life in Worcester.


  She was a member of the Ten Fifty Club at 1050 Main St. and was a former member of the Salvation Army.
