Subscription Update Obituary

Geraldine C. (D’Auteuil) Derry, 74 of Worcester passed away on December 12, 2010 in Beaumont Rehabilitation & Skilled Nursing Center, Worcester with her loving family by her side.

Geraldine is survived by four sons, James O. Derry, Jr. of Spencer, Alan G. Derry of Worcester, Michael Derry and his wife Susan of Oxford, and Joseph A. Derry of Cherry Valley; two daughters, T. Lorraine Webster of Worcester and M. Celeste Algieri and her husband Robert of Oxford; two brothers, George A. D’Auteuil, Sr. and his wife Pauline of Millbury and Ronald D’Auteuil and his wife Marie of Worcester; nineteen grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by a brother, Philippe D’Auteuil and a sister, Carol Mowyer.

Geraldine was born in Lawrence, a daughter of the late George J. and Marie (Guilmette) D’Auteuil. She later moved to Worcester where she graduated from Commerce High school and has lived here most of her life. She also attended classes at Assumption College. Geraldine worked at the North Andover Town Hall and she also worked as a caregiver for fifteen years. She was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church. She had a passion for music, loved to play the piano and had a beautiful singing voice. Her greatest joy was spending time with her children and all of her grandchildren.

Services for Geraldine will be held on Thursday, December 16th from the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St., Worcester with a Mass at 11 a.m. in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 24 Mulberry St., Worcester. Calling Hours will be held on Wednesday, December 15th from 6-8 p.m. in the funeral home.
