Gerald J. “Jerry” Cronin, Jr, 63, of Worcester, died unexpectedly Saturday April 14, 2012 in St. Vincent Hospital at Worcester Medical Center.
He leaves his wife, Carole A. (Duquette) Cronin, 3 children, Tara, Jeremie and Brittany Cronin, 3 grandchildren, Alexis, Macen and Maia. Jerry also leaves his mother, Eleanor J. Cronin, 5 siblings, Colleen Butkiewicz, David Cronin, Maureen Carter, Steven Cronin and Kathleen Marcello as well as many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. Jerry was predeceased by his father, Gerald J. Cronin, Sr, and a sister, Ellen J. (Cronin) Gallagher. He was born in Worcester and lived here for most of his life.
Jerry was an active member of Vernon Hill Post 435 American Legion and served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He worked many years for Ford’s Hometown Services formerly known as Griggs & Browne Pest Management Co. He was a graduate of South High School. He was a member of St. John’s Church.
His funeral will be held on Friday April 20 from DIRSA-MORIN FUNERAL HOME, 298 Grafton Street, with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. John Church, 40 Temple Street. A calling hour will be held in the funeral home from 9:30 to 10:30 A.M. Friday April 20. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
