This is Bumper in his element; his cluttered garage. Taken in 1997 while I visited him on temporary duty at Ft. Meade. I actually took the photo as part of a photojournalism assignment. ChrisYoung

"Sunny days seem to hurt the most. I wear the pain like a heavy coat. I still can't believe your gone."

Bumper, A year has passed and it still hurts as much as the day we lost you. I know you're with me because I see and feel you in so many things in my life. If I close my eyes I can still feel exactly what it was like to hug you and I can hear your laugh. We went campin just the other weekend and it reminded me of my childhood at peters pond park at the cape. I know those last few years were very hard for you but the way you handled it with you steady strength insp[ired me and comforted me. You were fearless and I'm trying to find that same strength in coping with the hurt I feel now that you're gone. I miss you Bumper but I know I'll see you again someday. I love you. Chris.
