George “Bill” William Gibree died on May 25, 2024 at Saint Francis Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Worcester at the age of 94. Bill had a long, wonderful life, surrounded by his loving family through his final days.

Bill was a caring, loving man with a quiet strength that was admired by all that knew him. He had a strong work ethic, which was reflected in his long careers both as a mason for Ed Loftus for 11 years and as an employee of the Central New England Warehouse for over 40 years. He was quiet and incredibly humble, but behind his reserved demeanor was the toughest man you could ever meet.

Bill was intensely proud to be a United States Marine and spent time stationed in Korea fighting bravely for his country in the Korean war. He was so devoted to his country and would often share his war stories with his family.

He is predeceased by his parents, Frank and Sylvia Gibree of Worcester, as well as his siblings Robert, Raymond, Phyllis, Pauline and Sylvia. Bill’s family takes great comfort in imagining him being reunited with his siblings and parents after all these years.

Bill is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Jeannette (Beauregard) Gibree, and his 3 sons and their spouses; William Gibree and his wife, Susan, Paul Gibree and his wife, Sharon and Thomas Gibree and his wife, Maryann. He is also survived by his 9 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren, all of whom cherished their “Sweet Little Papa”, as well as his many nieces and nephews.

Private services for the immediate family will be held at a later date. The Gibree family would like to extend their deepest gratitude towards the staff at the Saint Francis Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Worcester for their amazing care of Bill through his final stage of life. Dirsa – Morin Funeral Home is assisting the family.
