Subscription Update Obituary

George Tashjian, 71, passed away on October 20, 2006, in UMASS Memorial HealthCare.

He leaves his wife of 45 years, Florence (Brady) Tashjian; his daughter, Michelle A. Howe of N. Brookfield; two sisters, Rose and Doris Tashjian of Worcester; three brothers, Zakar and Richard Tashjian of Worcester, and Menas Tashjian of Las Vegas; three grandchildren, Joshua, Kathryn, and Samantha. A son, Anthony Tashjian, a brother, Archie Tashjian, and a sister, Nancy Barton predeceased him.

George was born in Holden, son of Hagop and Norkan (Shabooian) Tashjian and graduated from Worcester Boys Trade School. He was a machinist for The Jamesbury Co. for 30 years. He also served in the U.S. Army and was an avid sportsman. George will be remembered for his love of his family especially his grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 24th in Nordgren Memorial Chapel, 300 Lincoln St. Burial will be Worcester County Memorial Park in Paxton. Calling Hours will be held on Monday, October 23rd from 5-8 p.m. in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contribution may be made to The American Heart Association, Massachusetts Affiliate, INC., 20 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701.
