Subscription Update Obituary

   George R. Conlon, 66, died on August 26 at his home in South Yarmouth. He was the husband of Catherine E. (Cullen) Conlon.

   Born and raised in Worcester, he was a graduate of Commerce High School. He also attended Worcester Junior College, Worcester State College and graduated from Anna Maria College in Paxton. After service with the U.S. Coast Guard in the early 1960’s he worked for the former Mechanics National Bank in Worcester, and the Worcester County Memorial Park in Paxton. He retired after 30 years at David Clark Co., Inc., in Worcester. After moving to the Cape six years ago, he worked as a realtor with Lett Real Estate and also owned and operated BKP Enterprises and worked as an insurance appraiser.

   Mr. Conlon was a member of the Dennis-Harwich Lions Club, a member for over 50 years of the Park Congregational Church in Worcester, the Cape and Islands Board of Realtors, the National Association of Realtors, and a former member of the Worcester Rotary Club.

   In addition to his wife he leaves a daughter, Colleen C. Ormsby of Harwich and a son, Lt Col Shawn P. Conlon USMC, of Alexandria, VA; four brothers, Thomas J. Conlon, Jr. of Worcester, Russell C. Conlon of Whitinsville, Paul W. Conlon of Webster, and Donald C. Conlon of Sutton. He also leaves three grandsons, Brian M. and Kevin P. Conlon, and Paul A. Ormsby.

   Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday from 7-9 p.m. at the Morris & O’Connor Funeral Home, 58 Long Pond Dr., S. Yarmouth.

   A Graveside Service will be held on Wednesday at 10 a.m. at the Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton, MA, followed by a Memorial Service at 11 a.m. at the Park Congregational Church, 80 Russell St., Worcester.
