Francis T. “Bud” Boyle, 85, passed away suddenly on April 3, 2025, in Cumming, Georgia. Born on January 16, 1940, in Worcester, Massachusetts. He truly lived a good life marked by dedication to family, service to his country, and a deep appreciation for friendship and community.
His wife of 42 years, Carol A. (Marr) Boyle died in 2005. She was the love of his life.
Bud cherished time spent with family and friends. He leaves three daughters: Karen Ackerman and her husband Michael; Kelly Boyle; and Kerri Felton and her husband Mick. He took great pride in his grandchildren-Zachary Felton, Joshua Felton, Kianna Felton, Colin Felton, and Deckard Ackerman-each of whom brought him immense joy. He is also survived by his sister Elizabeth Collaro and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, Robert Boyle and his sister, Mary Lemire.
Francis was born in Worcester, son of Francis E. and Edna G. (Deedy) Boyle. He graduated Commerce High School and went on to serve his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War and continued his commitment through service in the Army Reserves. His passion for music and camaraderie was evident from a young age as a member of the Guardsman Drum and Bugle Corps-an interest that began in high school and remained close to his heart throughout his life.
Professionally, Frank built a successful career as a retail manager and sales consultant. From 1987 to 1998, he owned and operated The Pool Store in Worcester, where he was known not only for his business acumen but also for the relationships he cultivated with customers and colleagues alike.
In his leisure time, Bud found happiness in simple pleasures. He loved camping. He enjoyed playing cards with friends and especially enjoyed trips to the casino-a pastime that brought both excitement and joy into his life. During retirement he kept active by walking, going out to dinner, discussing politics and watching his favorite westerns. Some of his favorite moments were simply sitting outside in the warm air with his three faithful companions Molly, Pepper and Murphy. Known for reflecting fondly on cherished memories with loved ones, his warmth and humor left lasting impressions on those around him.
A graveside service will be held to honor Bud’s life on Tuesday, April 15, 2025, at Worcester County Memorial Park, located at 217 Richards Ave., Paxton, Massachusetts 01612. The service will begin at 11:00 AM.
Francis “Bud” Boyle will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
May the road rise up to meet you,
May the wind be always at your back,
May the sun shine warm upon your face,
May the rain fall soft upon your fields,
And until we meet again,
May God hold you in the palm of his hand.
