Frances Grace (Delano) Broden, 94, of Webster and formerly of Maine, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 26, 2025, with her loving family by her side.

Fran was predeceased by her beloved husband, Robert “Bob” Broden, who passed in 1988, and their son, Alan G. Broden, who passed in 2024. She leaves her nieces, Deborah Brown, of Rochdale, and Carol Tomlin, of West Brookfield, with whom she lived most recently; along with several cousins and a grandchild. She was also predeceased by her sisters, Elizabeth Torte and Mary Irene Cronin; and a stepbrother, Harold.

Frances was born in Freeport, Maine, daughter of the late Charles J. and Elizabeth B. (Britton) Delano. She was raised and educated in Maine as well, prior to moving to Massachusetts. Fran lived in Webster for around 30 years, before moving in with her niece Carol.
She had an extensive career working in a nursing home as a cook, decorator, housekeeper, etc., which she enjoyed for many years.

Fran, in her free time, enjoyed sewing, making dolls and doll clothing, collecting cookbooks, and making cookies for her neighbors, especially around the holidays. She loved singing and could often be found singing hymns and other joyful tunes to her family.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Frances’ family between 4 – 6 PM on Wednesday, May 7, 2025 at the BRITTON-WALLACE FUNERAL HOME, with a service beginning at 6 to honor Fran and her son Alan’s lives. Burial will be held privately for immediate family.
