Subscription Update Obituary

Frances E. (Leary) Donoghue, 94, of Worcester, died Monday, September 11th, in her home. Her husband, Frederick E. Donoghue, died in 1990. She leaves a son, Michael F. Donoghue of Media, PA; a daughter, Anne M. Laverty of Worcester; a sister, Nancy Trippi of Worcester; 6 grandchildren, Sean, Andrew, Julie, John, Alexander and James; 2 great grandchildren, Matthew and Keira; nephews and nieces.

She was born in Worcester, the daughter of William and Anna (Reynolds) Leary and graduated from South High School and Children's Hospital School of Nursing, Boston and was active in the alumni associations of both schools. Mrs. Donoghue was a nurse at Children's Hospital, Boston, and Worcester Visiting Nurses Association, before retiring in 1976. She was a member of Our Lady of the Angels Church and was active in its womens quilting group. She was a longtime volunteer with the Massachusetts Association for the Blind and was recognized as a Volunteer of the Year.

The funeral is Thursday, September 14th, from O'CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue, with a Mass at 10:30 a.m. in Our Lady of the Angels Church, 1222 Main Street. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Calling hours are Wednesday, September 13th, from 4:00 until 7:00 PM in the funeral home.
