Florence R. (Leary) McKeown, 84, of 24 Howe Village, died Saturday, Dec. 19th, at Radius Healthcare Center in Worcester after a long illness.
She was the wife of William John McKeown who died in 2001. She leaves two daughters, Linda A. Saunders and her husband Edward of Sturbridge and Sandra A. Ozimek and her husband Raymond of Woodbury, Tenn., a sister, Shirley A. Brown and her husband Harry of Spencer, five grandchildren, Kathy King, Lisa Thurlow and her husband David all of Spencer, Rebecca Minter, Rachel Lavergne and her husband Louis and Shawn Ozimek all of Murphysboro, Tenn., two step grandchildren, Guy Saunders of Southbridge and Brandy Prime of Scituate, R.I., six great grandchildren, Jennifer, Melissa, Nick, Mikayla, Zachary and Shelbi and three step great grandchildren, Dylan, Alexander and Xavier, two nieces, Cindy Meersman and Sharon Peters and her beloved cousin Mildred Rondeau. She is predeceased by her daughter F. Katherine McKeown in 1966 and her son-in-law Milton A. Hanson in 1991.
Florence was a sales clerk at the former Zayre and Ames Dept. Store in Worcester for 35 years, retiring in 1992. She was born in Worcester, the daughter of James and Florence (Scott) Leary. She graduated from the former Commerce High, and was a member of the E. Brookfield Baptist Church. The family would like to extend a special thank you for the caring staff at Radius Healthcare.
Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 22, at 10 a.m. in the E. Brookfield Baptist Church, 262 E. Main St., E. Brookfield. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Calling hours at the J. HENRI MORIN & SON FUNERAL HOME, 23 Maple Terr., Spencer are Monday, Dec. 21 from 4:30 to 7:30p.m. Flowers may be sent or contributions made to E.
