Subscription Update Obituary

Evelyn Wells passed away at home surrounded by family on November 9, 2025. She was born in Worcester, daughter of the late Henry and Marie (Novia) Wells. Evelyn was the beloved wife of 70 years to Anthony “Tony” Ferigno who passed in 2021. She is survived by her loving son, Mark Ferigno; her adored daughter, Mary-Lou Vitone and her husband Bruce; her cherished sister, Marie Gibree. Evelyn also leaves behind her much beloved nieces, grand nephews, and their families.

Evelyn attended Commerce High School in Worcester and worked various jobs in the business and customer service department. Eventually Evelyn worked with her husband as co-owner of Ferigno Construction, providing her administrative support.

Evelyn was a lifelong member of St. Stephen’s Catholic Church in Worcester. She was also a devoted, active member of the Worcester Sons of Italy and enjoyed socializing with many good friends. Still attending every meeting up until 5 years ago. 

Calling hours will be held for Evelyn on Friday, November 14, 2025, from 10:00a.m. until her Funeral Service at 11:00a.m. in the Mercadante Funeral Home & Chapel, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester. Interment will immediately follow services at Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton.
