Subscription Update Obituary

Evelyn E. (Osborne) Carlsen, 82, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 10, 2026, after an illness.

She is survived by her beloved husband of 60 years, Raymond J. Carlsen; 3 children, David Carlsen and his wife, Joanne Quirk of Westfield, Alan Carlsen and his wife, Jennifer of Sutton, and Laura Gordon and her husband, Sean of Worcester; a brother, Robert Osborne and his wife, Evelyn of West Greenwich, Rhode Island; a sister, Susan Lobdell and her husband, Robert of Salisbury, Maryland; 4 grandchildren, Kylie, Samuel, Lyla and Emma; and nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her beloved dog, Barclay.

Evelyn was born in Providence and raised in Cranston, Rhode Island, a daughter of the late Robert and Gladys (Hornbrook) Osborne. A proud graduate of Cranston East High School, she continued her education at Rhode Island College, earning a bachelor’s degree in education.

Evelyn was a dedicated member of the First Baptist Church-Worcester, where she served as the assistant treasurer for many years. She had a passion for knitting, crocheting and traveling the world with her husband. Evelyn’s greatest joy came from spending time with her family.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to all doctors, nurses, and caregivers at Dodge Park Rest Home and Notre Dame Hospice Care, for their compassionate care of Evelyn.

Calling hours will be held from 10 until 11:30AM, with a Funeral Service at 11:30AM, on Monday, March 16, 2026, in the Callahan, Fay & Caswell Funeral Home, 61 Myrtle St., Worcester. Burial to follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton.
