Subscription Update Obituary

   Eugene F. Grilli, 92, of Worcester, passed away, Monday, June 4th in the University Commons Long Term Care center. Eugene was born in Rimini, Italy, December 30, 1914, and came to America in 1921 with his brother Emil and his Aunts, Innocenza and Francesca on the S.S. America landing at the Port of Philadelphia.

   Eugene served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II, with a Reconnaissance squadron in the Caribbean, Central America, and South America, later as a Master Sgt., serving as a Flight and Crew Chief.

   Eugene earned his Bachelors Degree in Education in 1949, and his Master's Degree in Education in 1952 both from the University of Oklahoma, Norman. He taught in the Oklahoma City, Public Schools and the Worcester Public Schools, retiring as an Assistant Principal.

   Eugene is survived by his son, Michael Grilli and his wife, Elaine of Framingham; a daughter, Nancy Grilli of Worcester; two grandsons, Thomas and Christopher Grilli. A son, Robert Grilli, passed away in 1998, his parents, Luigi and Maria (Rossi) Grilli, and a brother, Emil predeceased him.

   Eugene donated his body to the University Of Massachusetts Medical School. A Memorial Mass will be held Friday, June 8th at 11:00 a.m. in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel-St. Ann Church, 24 Mulberry St. Burial will be at a later date in Worcester County Memorial Park in Paxton. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the University of Massachusetts Medical School, 55 Lake Ave., North 01655. The MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St., has been chosen to assist the family with arrangements.
