Subscription Update Obituary

Eugene F. Cronin, 85, of 36 Leeds St., died Monday, July 3 at home. He leaves his wife of 24 years, Mary Y. (Muise) Cronin; a daughter, Elizabeth Cronin-Wilder of Spencer; a son, John Cronin of Sutton; a step-daughter, Lisa and her husband, Peter Durant of Spencer; a step-son, Robert Bradshaw of Spencer; five grandchildren: Sean, Megan, Leana, Dale, and Kyle; a sister, Mary T. McGuire of Naples, FL; his cat, Stanley, nieces and nephews. His first wife, Marjorie Cronin, died in 1980 and a brother, John J. Cronin, also predeceased him.

He was born in Worcester, the son of Eugene F. and Anna L. (Vail) Cronin and graduated from St. Peter’s High School. He was a Navy Veteran of WW II. Eugene served as a Worcester Police Officer for 33 years before retiring. He was a member of Our Lady of the Rosary Church and was a former member of the Alhambra Knights of Columbus #88.

There are no visiting hours and funeral services are private. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Memorial contributions in Eugene’s name may be made to the American Lung Association, 460 Totten Pond Road, Suite 400, Waltham, MA 02451-1991.
