Ethel R. (Supernor) Parslow, 89, of Worcester, died Tuesday, April 22nd in her home. Her husband, Francis J. Parslow, Sr., died in 2005. She leaves two sons, Thomas A. Parslow and his wife Lori-Ann of Millbury and Francis J. Parslow, Jr. of Shrewsbury; a sister-in-law, Vera Supernor; four grandchildren, Patricia, Dierdre, Richard and James; and nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by four brothers, Eugene, Earl, Robert and Russell Supernor.
She was born in Worcester, the daughter of George R. and Cecelia (Tacy) Supernor and graduated from the former High School of Commerce. Mrs. Parslow worked for the government during World War II and was a bookkeeper for the American Tea Company and Norton Company before retiring. She was a member of the former Chestnut Street Congregational Church and sang in its choir for many years. She was a member of the Cavendish Club, sang in the light opera, and enjoyed crocheting, knitting and family genealogy, having been able to trace her family (Supernor) back to 400 AD in France to the Charlemagne name. Her family would like to thank her friends and neighbors and the VNA Care Hospice for their help and support during Ethel's illness.
The funeral is Saturday, April 26th with a service at 10:00 A.M in O'CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Calling hours are Friday, April 25th from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M in the funeral home. Flowers may be sent or contributions may be made to VNA Care Hospice, 120 Thomas Street, Worcester, MA 01608.
