Subscription Update Obituary

   Ernest M. Rice, 64, of Worcester died Wed., Dec. 5, in St. Vincent Hospital.

   He leaves his wife of 41 years, Mary V. (Richard) Rice; four children, Cheryl A. Rice of Sturbridge, Cliff A. Rice of Worcester, Laurene M. Rice of Worcester and USMC Gunnery Sergeant Curtis A. Rice of Okinawa, Japan; his mother, Adella M. (Mikenas) Rice of Worcester; four grandchildren, Anthony Rice, Gabrielle Gedman, Eric Biron and Dominic Rice; two brothers, David Rice of Millbury and Richard Rice of Worcester; a sister, Patricia Daly of Worcester and nieces and nephews. He was born in Worcester, son of the late Ernest M. Rice and graduated from Worcester Boys Trade School. He was a Navy Veteran of the Cuban Missile Crisis, serving on the USS Independence.

   Ernest was a boilermaker for Local #29 in Boston for many years, before retiring. He was a member of Saint Charles of Borromeo Church.

   A Funeral will be held on Mon., Dec. 10, from Callahan & Fay Brothers Funeral Home with a Mass at 10 AM in St. Charles Borromeo Church, 341 June St. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Visiting Hours are Sun., Dec. 9, from 1 to 4 PM at the funeral home.
