Subscription Update Obituary

     ERNEST G. GODDU, 65, of Worcester, Mass., and Freedom, N.H., vice president of sales and marketing at Russ-Hoffacker Co., Cranston, died Tuesday at home in Worcester after an illness. He was the husband of Marilyn (Burgio) Machado Goddu and the late Carol Ann (Vernon) Goddu.

Born in Worcester, a son of the late Ernest L. and Dorothy M. (Thibault) Goddu, he lived in Worcester most of his life.

Mr. Goddu was employed by Russ-Hoffacker for 18 years. He had been a sales engineer for Coas Knife Co., Worcester, for 29 years.

He served in the Massachusetts National Guard for 40 years, retiring in 1994 with the rank of colonel. He was a member of St. Christopher’s Church and the Morningstar Lodge of Masons, both in Worcester.

Besides his wife, he leaves a son, Allen Goddu of Keene, N.H.; a daughter, Dian M. Lewczyk of Worcester; a brother, Robert L. Goddu of Loudon, N.H.; three stepsons, Kenneth Machado of Smithfield, Richard Machado of North Providence and Louis Machado in Arizona; a stepdaughter, Lori Russo of North Smithfield; five grandchildren, eight step-grandchildren and a great-step-granddaughter.

The funeral will be held tomorrow at 9 a.m. from Athy Memorial Home, 111 Lancaster St., Worcester, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 in St. Christopher’s Church, 950 West Boylston St., Worcester. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton, Mass.
