Emily A. Peters, 27, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 2nd.

Emily leaves her parents, Gordon and Mary Jo (Hovagimian) Peters of Sutton; her younger sister, Rachel Peters and her fiancé Christian Fay of Sutton; her older sister, Caitlyn (Peters) O’Brien, and her husband Connor O’Brien of Sutton; her niece and nephew, Maeve and Declan O’Brien; and paternal grandmother, Elaine Peters of Leicester; along with many aunts, uncles, and cousins who loved her dearly. She is predeceased by her maternal grandparents, Milton and Gwendolyn Hovagimian and her paternal grandfather, Norman Peters.

Emily was born in Worcester, MA on a beautiful sunny day. Due to the nature of her fragile medical status, she resided at Seven Hills Pediatric Center (SHPC) in Groton, MA, where she received exceptional care by many staff members who treasured Emily, as much as her family did. Most of all Emily enjoyed being outside in the sunshine, going on bumpy car rides, holding animals (both alive and stuffed), going on field trips, listening to music, especially Justin Bieber, and celebrating holidays and birthdays with family and friends, where she received endless snuggles from those who loved her. She was named “Best Dressed” for many years at her school and always had the most fashion forward wardrobe.

Emily touched the lives of many, as demonstrated by the abundance of kindness and love provided to her from staff members at SHPC, especially her care team of doctors, nurses, CNAs, and case managers. She will forever be seen as our ray of sunshine, and her precious memory will live on in our hearts forever.

Family and friends are invited to remember and celebrate Emily’s life by gathering for her funeral Mass on Wednesday, August 7th at 10:30 a.m. in St. Mark’s Church, 356 Boston Road, Sutton with burial to follow in WCMP, Paxton.

In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Seven Hills Pediatric Center, 22 Hillside Avenue Groton, MA 01450
