Emilio Catino, Jr., 67, of Wachusett Street, died on Thursday, May 13, 2010 in UMass Memorial Healthcare-University Campus, Worcester.
His wife of 37 years, Marilyn L. (Gilmore) Catino, died in 2000. He leaves seven sons, Jeffrey E. Catino and his wife Carrie of Holden, Kenneth E. Catino of Laguna Niguel, CA, Brian G. Catino and his wife Christine of Lancaster, Thomas P. Catino and his wife Nancy of Worcester, Dennis P. Jerold and Christopher S. Catino, all of Worcester; four daughters, Frances L. Esteves of Sterling, Daniele D. Hollum of Worcester, Shannon T. Catino of Grafton and Christine Brumleve of Holden; a brother, Robert F. Catino of Holden; two sisters, Marie C. and Mildred S. Catino, both of Holden; 23 grandchildren and two nieces.
Emilio was born and raised in Worcester, a son of Emilio and Antoinette (Doldo) Catino, Sr. and lived in Holden for the last 40 years. He was a graduate of North High School and was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Vietnam era serving aboard the USS Sampson (DDG-10). He was employed by the Town of Holden, Forestry and Parks Division, for over 20 years retiring in 1987. Previously he worked at Norton Company.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours from 6 to 7:30 p.m. on Monday, May 17th, in the Miles-Sterling Funeral Home, 100 Worcester Road (Rte.12), Sterling. A private funeral service will be held in the funeral home with burial following in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in his memory may be made to Sweet Pea Friends of Rutland Animals, Inc., P.O. Box 897, Rutland, MA 01543.
