Elvira (Pace) Belanger-Benoit, 99, of Worcester, passed away Thursday, July 17, 2025, surrounded by loved ones. She was the beloved wife of the late, Richard Benoit who had passed in 1995. She was also predeceased by her former husband Raymond A. Belanger, Sr., who passed in 2004.

Elvira is survived by her cherished sister, Nina Crossman of Marlboro, MA; her loving children, Raymond A. Belanger, Jr. and his wife Theresa of Athol, MA, Ann Marie Beaumont and her husband Robert of Webster, MA, Alfred M. Belanger and his wife Ellen of Dennis, MA, Micheal C. Belanger of Worcester, MA, and Paul A. Belanger and his wife Katherine of East Brookfield, MA; a dear sister-in-law, Rosemary Pace of Worcester, MA; her thirteen grandchildren; her twenty-three great grandchildren; her 4 great-great grandchildren; ; and many nieces, nephews, grand nieces, and grand nephews. Sadly, in addition to her parents, Elvira was predeceased by her siblings, Michael Pace, Rose Voutas, and Lucia Shulten.

Born April 8, 1926, in Worcester to the late, Michael and Anna (Granata) Pace. Elvira was a graduate of the David Hale Fanning Girls Trade School in Worcester and went on to obtain her bachelor’s degree in teaching from UMass Amherst.

Mercadante Funeral Home & Chapel are honored to assist the family with arrangements. Funeral Services for Elvira will be held privately.

The family would like to extend a great thank you to all the staff at the Christopher House for all the care they had shown Elvira.
