Subscription Update Obituary

     Elvira C. Wood, lovingly known as “Nonnie”, passed away on Friday, June 15, 2012 after a long illness. Her husband of 26 years, Fred C. Wood passed away on December 17, 1995. Nonnie leaves her three sons, Victor Nuzzolilo of Shrewsbury, Richard Scuderi (Joleen) of Pennsylvania and John Scuderi (Catherine) of Cape Cod, Massachusetts; two daughters, Barbara Scardamaglia (Mario) of Holden, MA and Carolyn Onisko (Robert) of Boca Raton, Florida.
     She leaves her adored and adoring grandchildren, Ritza Elizabeth, Mark Scardamaglia, Lana LeBlanc (George), Gino Nuzzolilo, Laurie Nuzzolilo, Vito Nuzzolilo and Mark Nuzzolilo, Janelle Scuderi, Michael Scuderi, Ryan Scuderi, Matt Onisko, John Onisko, and Alexandra Onisko. She leaves her great granddaughter Isabella LeBlanc, as well as many nieces and nephews.
     Vera was known as a great friend and a wonderful neighbor. She was an expert cook and baker. She was talented in crocheting and embroidery. She brought laughter and kindness with her wherever she went. She will be lovingly remembered and missed by all.
     Her Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, June 20, with Calling Hours from 9 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. in MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester, followed by a Funeral Service at 11 a.m. at Saint Michael’s on the Heights Church, 340 Burncoat Street, Worcester, MA 01606.
     In lieu of flowers perform an act of kindness and pass it on.
