Subscription Update Obituary

Elizabeth (Cavanaugh) Sprague, 94, formerly of Paxton, passed away Wednesday, March 9, 2011 under the loving care of The Pavilion Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center and VNA Hospice and Palliative Care of Cape Cod in Hyannis.

Her husband of 55 years, Ernest C. Sprague died in 1988. Her love and humor will be sorely missed by her daughter, Joan C. Barker and a sister, Alice Daniels both of Brewster; 4 beloved grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by a daughter, Maureen J. Krukonis, a brother, Lawrence Cavanaugh, and a sister, Gertrude Wolcott.

Mrs. Sprague was born in Worcester the daughter of Frank L. and Rose R. (Moreau) Cavanaugh and graduated from North High School. She lived most of her life in Paxton before moving to Cape Cod in 2005. She was a member of St. Columba Church in Paxton, its Women’s Guild and the Paxton Women’s Club.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a family visitation hour from 9 to 10 a.m. on Thursday, March 17th, in the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main St., Holden, followed by a 10:30 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Columba Church, 10 Richard’s Ave., Paxton. Interment will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Memorial donations may be made to Cape Cod Community College Educational Foundation towards Nursing Scholarship, VNA Hospice & Palliative Care of Cape Cod, or any children’s fund of your choice.
