Subscription Update Obituary

    Elizabeth "Betsy" Clayborne, 60, of Worcester, passed away Friday, April 16, 2010 at St. Vincent Hospital surrounded by her family.

    She leaves her brother, T. Daniel Clayborne and his wife Nancy; her sister, Mary Dupre and her husband James; four nieces, Nicole Kinneavy and her husband Patrick, Suzanne Langevin and her husband Brian, Anne Clayborne and Kate Clayborne; her grand-niece, Danielle Kinneavy; and a loving extended family.

    Betsy was born in Worcester, to the late Thomas & Elizabeth Clayborne. She was a proud alumna of Anna Maria College in Paxton, and Assumption College in Worcester. She worked for 36 years as an elementary school teacher for the Worcester Public Schools before retiring in 2007.

    Betsy's family wishes to thank Dr. Robert Bessette for his many years of compassionate care, and the staff at St. Vincent Hospital for their care, respect and support in her final days.

    Family and friends are invited to attend calling hours Tuesday, April 20 from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Athy Memorial Home, 111 Lancaster St., Worcester. The funeral will be held Wednesday, April 21 with a Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Christopher's Church, 950 West Boylston St. in Worcester. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton.

    In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Christopher's Church.
