Eleanor Hass, 86 of Ridgeland, SC and formerly of Cape May, NJ – died Monday, May 05, 2014 at home.
Mrs. Hass was born in Worcester, MA on June 6, 1927, the daughter of the late Joseph P. Carraher and Elizabeth Laughlin Carraher. She started a family and raised her children in New York where she worked as a secretary with the St. John’s University Communication Services department. She retired to Cape May, NJ where she resided for thirty-five years. She was a devout catholic and attended St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church.
Mrs. Hass was preceded in death by her loving husband of 55 years, Irving M. “Sonny” Hass. She is survived by her children, Kevin F. Hass (Pamala) of Lakewood, CO, James H. Hass of Annandale, VA, Kathleen E. Hass of Littleton, CO, Karen M. Hass of Littleton, CO, and Dr. Robert J. Hass (Cynthia) of Okatie, SC; grandchildren, Sara, Ryan, Rachel, Maggie, Isabella, Charlotte, and William Hass; and great-grandchild, Mya-Kay Hass.
The family will be receiving friends from 9:00 – 10:00 a.m., Friday, May 9, 2014 at Sauls Funeral Home, 90 Simmonsville Road, Bluffton, SC 29910.
A funeral mass will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, May 9, 2014 at St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church, 333 Fording Island Road, Bluffton, SC 29909.
Entombment will take place at 11:00 a.m., Monday, May 12, 2014 at Worcester County Memorial Park in Paxton, MA under the direction of Athy Funeral Home.
