Eleanor M. Smith 96 of Worcester, MA passed away of natural causes on July 26th 2025, at home surrounded by family.

Eleanor is predeceased by her husband Delbert S. Smith. They married young in 1949 and were happily together for 64 years. Eleanor is blessed with seven children, many grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. 

 Born as Alberta O’Keefe of Thompson, CT in March of 1929. She was adopted by Louis and Anna Kacerik at the age of 3 and was later named Eleanor Mary Kacerik.  

Eleanor worked for a Textile and Linen Mill. As a nurse aid, Eleanor tended to patients for Grafton State Hospital and Worcester State Hospital. She ended her nursing career at Senior Home Care. Before retiring, she held various other positions. Prayer and faith were cornerstones of her life. Served as a member of Bethlehem Covenant Church. Their home was a constant refuge for those seeking help, even to this day. 

Eleanor’s graveside service will be held on Friday, August 8th at 1pm in Worcester County Memorial Park, 217 Richards Ave in Paxton.
