Elaine M. “Lanny”(Kelley) Canavan, 74, of Spencer, died Sunday, March 4, 2012. She was predeceased by her husband of 50 years, Thomas W. Canavan in 2007. She leaves a daughter Kelley A. Carney and her husband William of Hightstown, NJ; a son, Lawrence K. Canavan of Spencer; four granddaughters, Emily Canavan, Kate, Erin and Allison Carney; and a grandson Liam. She also leaves her brother Robert Kelley of Dalton, MA, three aunts and several nieces and nephews.
She was born in Worcester, the daughter of Harry and Julia (Slawinski) Kelley and graduated from Commerce High School. Lanny once worked at Sears in Auburn. She enjoyed playing bingo, crafts and reading.
The funeral will be held on Thursday, March 8 from CALLAHAN FAY BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 61 Myrtle Street, Worcester with a Mass at 10:30 AM at St. John’s Church, 40 Temple Street, Worcester. Burial will follow at Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Visiting hours will also be held on Thursday, March 8 from 9-10 AM in the funeral home.
