Subscription Update Obituary

    Edward J. Strozina, Sr., 80, of Franklin St., died Monday, Feb. 7, 2011 in Knollwood Nursing Center.

    His wife Beatrice S. (Caramello) Strozina died in 2002. He leaves a son, Thomas F. Strozina and his longtime companion Robert Perreault whom was like a son to Edward of Henderson, NV; a brother, Richard Strozina of Auburn; a sister, Grace O'Connor of Worcester; 4 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was pre-deceased by a son Edward J. Strozina, Jr.

    Mr. Strozina was born in Worcester, son of Alexander and Margaret (Foley) Strozina. He served his country during the Korean Conflict in the United States Army. He worked at New England High Carbon Wire in Millbury for 19 years before retiring. After retiring he worked maintenance at the Dudley Gendron Post 414 American Legion in Sutton where he was also past commander. He was a member of the Charles F. Minney VFW post in Millbury. He was a member of St. Pius X church. He was an avid Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots fan. He enjoyed fishing and hunting with his nephew Bobby.

    The funeral will be held Thursday, Feb. 10 from MORRISON-MORIN FUNERAL HOME, 1131 Main Street, Leicester with a Mass at 11 a.m in St Pius X Church, 1153 Main St., Leicester. Burial with military honors will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. A calling hour will precede the funeral from 9:45-10:45 AM. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Knollwood Nursing Center, Activities Dept., 87 Briarwood Circle, west Boylston, MA 01583.
