Subscription Update Obituary

    Edward Joseph Prostak, Sr., 82, of Worcester died unexpectedly Wednesday, April 12, at Saint Vincent Hospital. He was dearly loved and will be greatly missed.

    Mr. Prostak was born in Worcester, the son of Onufry and Catherine (Sowa) Prostak, and lived in Worcester for most of his life, working for General Electric for 42 years.

    He leaves behind his wife of 56 years, Theresa (Bastille) Prostak; three sons, Edward J., Jr. of New York, Gary of California, and John G. of Columbia, S.A.; and two daughters, Cheryl Ann and her husband, Roger Willis, of Maine and Geralyn and her husband, Christopher Bailey, of Auburn. Mr. Prostak, known as "Grampie" for the past twenty years, also leaves six grandchildren; Lily and Jake Willis and Samantha, Sydney, Paige, and Jaime Bailey. Mr. Prostak predeceases two sisters, Ann S. Miller and Helen, and her husband Walter Lucyniak of Auburn; a sister-in-law, Josephine Prostak of Worcester; and several nieces and nephews. Edward’s Brothers Stanley and Walter; and sister Isabel C. Petracca have predeceased him.

    Mr. Prostak is a veteran of WWII, having proudly and honorably served his country in the United States Navy.
