Subscription Update Obituary

    Edward H. Hudson, Sr., 76, of Worcester, passed away Thursday, March 25, 2010 in Saint Vincent Hospital.

    He is survived by his wife of fifty-two years, Rose Marie (Laplume) Hudson; two daughters, Robin Johnstone and her husband James of Holden and Jean Martinelli and her husband Rocco Martinelli, Jr. of Oxford; a son, Edward H. "Ted" Hudson, Jr.  and his fiancé Laurie Beaudoin of Auburn; two sisters, Alice Zylinski of East Falmouth and Rosalyn Keller and her husband Richard of Northborough; six grandchildren, Nathan E. Hudson, Eric H. Hudson, Jessica M. Martinelli, Michelle H. Johnstone, Jamie M. Johnstone and Ashley M. Martinelli; several nieces and nephews.  He was pre-deceased by a grandson, Michael H. Johnstone and by a brother, Robert Hudson, Jr.

    Edward was born in Worcester, son of Robert and Marie (Runzi) Hudson. He attended Worcester High School of Commerce and Ward's Business School.

    Mr. Hudson worked as a computer consultant, prior to his retirement. He had previously operated his own business, Educational Management Systems. He was a member of Saint George Catholic Church. He was an avid Red Sox fan. Edward enjoyed spending time with his family and all of the joy that the love of family can bring.

    Calling hours for Edward will be held Tuesday morning, March 30, from 10:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. in MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester, followed by a Funeral Mass at 1 p.m. in Saint George Catholic Church, 38 Brattle Street, Worcester. Interment will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to The Jimmy Fund,
