Subscription Update Obituary

   Edward F. Copper, 83, of Meadow Lane, North Grafton, passed away, Sunday, March 2, 2008, in Saint Francis Home of Worcester. His wife of over fifty years, Ethel H. (Tripp) Copper, pre-deceased him in 1999.

   Edward is survived by two daughters, Eleanor Howe of Grafton, and Constance Posterro and her husband Barry of North Grafton; six grandchildren, Brenda Pleasant, Pamela Bouvier, Tracy Posterro, Barry Posterro, Jamie Posterro, and Kristy Posterro, several nieces and nephews. His brother, John Copper, pre-deceased him in 1983. Edward was born in Worcester, the son of Peter and Angelina (Gregory) Copper, and attended Saint Stephen's School. He served in the United States Army, during World War II, and was stationed in Alaska.

   Mr. Copper was an iron-worker with The International Brotherhood of Iron Workers, Local 57, for many years, and was involved in many major construction jobs that shaped the skylines of Boston and Worcester. Upon his retirement Edward continued working at UMass Medical Center, in the Maintenance Department. He was a member of Saint Mary's Church in North Grafton, and the Greendale Retired Men's Club.

   The funeral for Mr. Copper will be held Wednesday, March 5, from MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester, with a Mass at 9 a.m. in Saint Stephen's Church, 357 Grafton Street, Worcester. Interment will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Calling hours will be held Tuesday, March 4, from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. in the funeral home.
