Edward Cosway, Jr., 71, of Holly Street, died unexpectedly on Friday, June 13, 2025, at UMass Memorial Medical Center – University Campus in Worcester.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Debra C. (Monfreda) Cosway of Oxford; two children, Shawn E. Cosway and his wife Shauna Riley of Oxford, and Nicole C. Cosway of Oxford; three grandchildren, Makaela Robinson, Autumn Gray, and Roman E. Cosway; several nieces and nephews; and many great-nieces and great-nephews. He was predeceased by three brothers, Ronald Annis, John Annis, and Richard Annis.

He was born in Worcester, son of the late Edward and Martha E. (Gray) Cosway Sr., and was a lifelong resident of Oxford. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Vietnam War, proudly serving aboard the U.S.S. Joseph P. Kennedy Jr.

Mr. Cosway worked for the Worcester Regional Airport for 36 years, retiring as Chief of the Police and Aircraft Rescue Firefighting Department in 2010. In addition, he was a part-time police officer for the Oxford Police Department, and a member of the Oxford Fire Department for many years.

He enjoyed classic cars. He could often be found attending car shows, watching NASCAR, and driving his Corvette. He loved his grandchildren more than anything, and made everyone feel loved and appreciated. He will be remembered as a kind and funny man who was like a dad and grandpa to everyone.

A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, June 21, 2025, at Paradis-Givner Funeral Home, 357 Main St., Oxford. Burial with military honor will follow at Worcester County Memorial Park in Paxton. Calling hours are Friday, June 20, 2025, from 4-7 p.m. at the funeral home.
