Subscription Update Obituary

   Edmund "Ed" J. Kilmonis, 71, of 1311 Powderpuff Dr., died Sunday, April 20 at his home in Florida. He leaves his wife, Doris M. (Fleming) Kilmonis; a son, David P. Kilmonis and his wife Christine of Leicester, MA; four daughters: Paula M. Bartkus and her husband Philip of Oakham, Susan J. Smith and her husband Robert of Rochdale, twin daughters, Dawn M. Ollander and her husband Eric of Tarpon Springs, Fl., and Donna L. Hegwood and her husband Keith of Tampa, FL; his mother, Anna (Saluta) Kilmonis of Worcester, MA; a sister, Joanne Chabala of Mt. Pocono, PA; eight grandchildren: Nathaniel, Joshua and Matthew Kilmonis, Danielle Bartkus, Nicole and Megan Smith, Ashley and Lauren Hegwood; and several nieces and nephews. His first wife, Elizabeth A. (Johnson) Kilmonis, died in 1999.

   Ed was a wire drawer and die inspector for the former Worcester Wire Co. for 23 years, retiring in 1982. He once served in the U.S. Navy. He was a former member of St. Joseph's Church in Leicester, and the Leicester Rod & Gun Club. He enjoyed playing golf, hunting and fishing. He was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Parish in Dunedin where he was a Eucharistic minister. He enjoyed his summers in New England and winters in Florida.

   He was born in Worcester, the son of the late Adam Kilmonis and lived in Cherry Valley, MA, before moving to Fla. in 1984. His summer residence was in the Rochdale section of Leicester, MA.

   The funeral will be held on Friday, April 25 from the MORIN-MORRISON FUNERAL HOME, 1131 Main St., Leicester with a Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Aloysius-St. Jude Church, 496 Pleasant St., Leicester. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Calling hours are Thursday, April 24 from 4 to 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to The Hospice of the Fla.
