Subscription Update Obituary

     Edgar A. Cote, 85, of 8B Zgonis Drive South Grafton passed unexpectedly January 20, 2013 at U Mass Medical Center with his loving family at his side. He leaves his wife of 50 years Beverly ( Burke ) Cote; two daughters, Carol Seitz of Holden; Mary Moshier and her husband Steven of Gouldsboro ME; one son, Robert Pearo and his wife Donna of Brunswick GA; one brother, Norman Cote and his wife Phyllis of North Grafton; seven grandchildren; ten great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.His brother Robert Cote passed in 1996.
     Mr. Cote was born in Worcester February 12, 1927 the son of the late Edmund and Madeline ( Chilson ) Cote and raised in North Grafton. Edgar enlisted in the US Navy during his senior year of high school and was a World War II veteran serving aboard The USS Hecuba and USS Stormes in the Asiatic Pacific Theater. His mother accepted his high school diploma for him during his military service. Edgar worked many years as a draftsman and machinist in the corrugated box industry including Dowd Box Co. retiring in 1986. After retiring he and his wife enjoyed 22 years of traveling and camping with their trailer for winters in Florida and summers in the north. Ed was an excellent competitive horseshoe player holding membership in the National Horseshoe Pitching Association. He also loved harness racing, playing cards and was a talented table tennis player.
     The family suggests you remember Ed with memorial donations to The St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, PO Box 3704, Memphis TN 38103.
      Funeral services and interment with military honors will be held at the convenience of his family. There are no calling hours. Arrangements are in the care of The Roney Funeral Home in North Grafton.
