Subscription Update Obituary

Earnest "Pat" Platts, 92, of 9 Brightside St., died Sunday, Dec. 31st in his home, after an illness.

His wife, Joan M. (Rose) Platts died in 1990. He leaves a step-son, Douglas Cadell of Millbury; four grandchildren; a great-grandson; a great-granddaughter; a great great-granddaughter; a sister, Dorothy Platts of Millbury a brother Herbert Platts of Framingham; nephews and nieces. He was born in Millbury and is predeceased by his parents, George and Roseann (Scott) Platts, five brothers, James, John, Harry, George and Alfred Platts and three sisters, Alice Green, Pricella Beaton and Roseann Platts. He graduated from Millbury High School in 1932.

Mr. Platts was an office manager for the WRTA in Worcester where he worked since it was the Worcester Street Railway Co., retiring in 1979. He was a member of the Millbury Federated Church, the Charles F. Minney V.F.W. Post and the Olive Branch Lodge of Masons all in Millbury. He was an Army veteran during WW II, serving European Theater.

His funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 4th, in the First Congregational Church, West Main St., Millbury. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Calling hours are 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Jan 3rd in the Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 Main St., Millbury.
