Subscription Update Obituary

    E. A. John Plante, 83, of Paxton, died suddenly on Tuesday, April 11. His wife of 53 years, Marie Y. (Ouellette) Plante, died in 1996. He leaves three daughters, Jacqueline M. Plante and her husband Henry Lustgarten of West Millbury, Janet M. Perez and her husband Albino of La Otto, Ind., and Joy M. Plante and her companion Margaret A. Endicott of Gainesville, VA; a brother, Paul A. Plante of Saratoga Springs, NY; a sister, Therese E. Laprade of Charlton; three grandchildren, William P. Gatchell, Tina M. Hobin, and Johnna M. Gatchell; two great-grandchildren, Raymond Hobin III and Alena M. Gatchell; and many nephews, nieces, and cousins. A son, John M. Plante, died in 1995. He is also predeceased by three brothers, Francis A, Cyril G. Jr., and George Plante. A brother Cyril and a sister Constance died as children. He was born in Worcester, son of Cyril G. Sr. and Flore (Riopel) Plante and lived in Worcester before moving to Paxton in 1989. He served in the Army during World War II.

Mr. Plante was a truck driver for the St. Johnsbury Trucking general freight for many years. After retiring he worked for Fallon Clinic, Telegram & Gazette, and was currently employed by Advance Auto Parts. He was a member of the Local 170 Teamsters Union, was a recipient of the Million Mile Safe Driver Award, and was a faithful member of St. Peter’s Church in Worcester and was a faithful member of St. Peter’s Church in Worcester.
