Douglas P. Hainsworth, Jr., 84, of Worcester, died Saturday, April 6, 2013 at Knollwood Nursing Center, Worcester.
He leaves his wife, Virginia L. (Vosburg) Hainsworth; three sons, Douglas Hainsworth III of Worcester, Alan Hainsworth and his wife Peggy of Ohio, and Lance Hainsworth and his wife Victoria of California; two daughters, Jayne Fisher and her husband Noel of Petersham, Dale Amirault and her husband David of Missouri; 11 grandchildren, and 1 great-grandchild. A sister, Mary Klimek, predeceased him. He was born in Blue Island, Illinois, son of Douglas P. Sr. and Mary (Cassidy) Hainsworth. He has lived in Worcester since 1949.
Douglas was a truck driver for UPS. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He was a member of the Triumphant Life Church of Worcester and the American Legion Gaudette – Kirk Post 138, Spencer, MA.
A graveside funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 9, 2013 at Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Triumphant Life Church of Worcester, 166 Holden St., Worcester, MA 01606. Rice Funeral Home, 300 Park Ave., Worcester is handling arrangements.
